After beginning his career as a mathematics educator, Nijel entered the information technology profession in 2007 and has since worked across cybersecurity governance, compliance, audit, risk management, assurance, and workforce development.
Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Nijel earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from Howard University. He also holds industry certifications including CISSP, CCSP, CISA, and PMP, reflecting experience across cybersecurity governance, cloud security, audit, and project leadership.
Nijel is the creator of The Optimal Vitality Framework™ (OVF), a structured model focused on the conditions that influence long-term vitality and performance. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys reading, spending time with family, and supporting community initiatives through organizations including Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated and Project GiveBack, where he serves as Treasurer.
